Hi
Has anyone any experience of deploying java3D applets complete with
libraries. I do NOT want the user to have to download the plug-in, but I
am experiencing problems getting the applets to run in the test
environment without the Java3D RTE installed. I am right in thinking
this is possible? If

Hi,
Some time ago we have some talk about the use of Java3D applets in web
pages, targeting more audience.
So lets make this easier to common user.
I wrote a 3 step guide, using applets, to help common users to :

Hello guys!
I've observed a suspiciuos behavior on Java3D applets. When I open an
applet in the browser (I.E. or Netscape), change to other web(without
applets) and returns to the applet page's I observe that the memory
falls down dangerously. Let you repeat the process 20 or 30 time
Asaf,
Last I'd heard from Sun, we can not legally bundle Java 3D into a web
distribution (we'd have to make sure our servers didn't serve it up to
any banned countries). Thus it becomes a two step install (requiring
the customer to install Java 3D) until Sun comes out with the digitally
signed v

I'm trying to create an Applet that uses javax.media.j3d
It works fine on my computer, but on any other (that does not have j3d
installed) it doesn't.
I tried the newest HTMLconvertor from Sun,
I tries JAR in my applet with a

All,
The recent discussions concerning OpenGL just jangled some dendrites

Hello all,
I seem to remember I had Java3D applets running alright a couple of weeks
ago (before I was seriously considering using it myself), but now when I
try to run one I get 'Applet Tennis1 class Tennis1 got a security

Many Java 3D(TM) programs will require a larger heap size
than the default 16M in the JPI. Run the Java Plug-In Control
Panel from the Start menu (in the Programs section) and in
"Java
Run Time Parameters" put "mx64m" for 64M of heap
memory.

I've had similar problems in the past. I got past thme by changing the Java Plug-in to
use the JRE from my JDK, instead of the run-time default. Don't know if this will work
for you, but you might check it out.

Thanks for trying the applet. I have not done any tests using
Internet Explorer, only Netscape. It seems that I had better
work on the IExpl. situation.

By self-signing the jarfile with keytool/jarsigner1.3, I have made an

Maybe you can try this, just copy one of the J3D.dll file from

As there has been a recent resurgence in interest in Java 3D *applets* over
the past few days I thought I would raise a question that I posed a few
months ago.
Has anyone noticed that the JDK2 Plugin does not close properly? Symptoms of
this include the Plugin still being in memory (i.e. Ta
