Dear all,
When compiled a Java3D source file, everything seemed to be correct, no
error at all. BUT when I executed it, a dialog mesage was pop up.
It said "Fail to create back buffer - DDERR_INALIDPARAMS".
Could anybody tell me what it does mean?

Hi
Altough I'm not much into Terrain Rendering yet, I personaly thing it's
not a good idea to split every subject connected to Java3D away to a
seperate list. And I think there might already be a general terrain
rendering group which are not connected to any API.
Just my 5 cents

Justin, certainly I have a strong interest in terrain implementation as
well. However, I don't see a need for another list. But it would be
great if we could summarize and post (on j3d.org) various strategies and
code snippets.

As a surveying engineer specialized in the area of GIS and also as a java
developper of a GIS client viewer program, I am interest in the list you are
proposing. As I am NOT a java3D expert, but rather a newbie, I don't think I
could bring very usefull contributions, but neverthel

Hi, all:
I went through the j3d archive regarding the Switch Node and came back
still confused. Here are my questions.
I read that putting link leaves under the switch node has performance
problem. Has this problem solved yet?

Hi,
Could some one tell me informations on Sun Java3D training issue?
I am prototyping some 3D application using Sun Java3D APIs.
I feel it is still difficult even though I have read through your 3D
tutorial and some of the API specs.
Plesae let me know if there is any trainning opportunities at

Is there any program can save or export CompressedGeometry file type? What I

graphical object. For example, I want to get the CompressedGeometry file
type which represents a cube or a ball(simple one). So, when I write Java
