The problem with that, is two fold: 1) It's easy to forget to write 'flush()'. I suggest a code checker or an annotation processor that warns you if you forget, and 2) Theoretically, flush() does slightly less than close(). For example, close() will also have to update certain file descriptors,

If I'm not mistaken somebody started to make a plugin for Inkscape ( http://silveiraneto.net/2008/11/21/inkscape-and-javafx-working-together/) but the author stopped with it. Probably because the Production Suite already did this. Btw, should we log bugs against this converter in this jira too ?

The Production Suite currently handles only Illustrator and Photoshop. We would like to work with the makers of other graphic design tools, such as Gimp and Inkscape to add support. The FXZ file format is pretty simple so I think it would be easy. If you know people on those project please
