Check out Spring Roo at http://springsource.org/roo
It does some nice rails like scaffolding for
JPA with Spring MVC views - all very Java centric.

Unfortunatly, that is a known bug in the current version of the
eclipse plugin, rendering it pretty much useless (at least in this
release).
Use the axis2 shell or batch utilities to generate the wsdl instead.

Why is Java written in all caps? It is not an acronym, so shouldn't it
be correctly written as "Java"?

I would target JDK 6.
JDK 5 will complete its end of life by end of October this year.
Time to move on folks :)

One concrete use of AOP that I've seen that actually makes a lot of
sense is Spring's declarative transactions. They are implemented using
AOP so, for example all of your DAOs can be configured to be
transactional.

I found it quite amusing that the acronym for Friends of Eclipse is

I would say that the comments should be less concerned about the

Could it be possible that Sun's line of thinking might be release an

Java SE 7, when it finally becomes specified. This TCK would likely be
built from the ground up to address the weaknesses in the TCK for Java

My one outstanding question is the following
Has any OpenJDK build yet passed the TCK(JCK) ?

In my view, there are two likely aspects to jigsaw not having a JSR.
Either Sun view it purely as an implementation detail, or more likely
it is the following:
It's been mentioned in past on the podcast that all of the successful
JSR proposals have come with an implementation already written in

As an Irish citizen, I am disgusted with the way Eircom just caved in.
I bet you can guess who is not my ISP... thats right, Eircom isn't.
But if they were I'd drop them quicker than an AOL trial cd.

I'm glad to see that Dick, or indeed any of the other Javaposse have
not dignified this thread with a response.
I'm sure Mr. Wall finds it slightly offensive and definitely off-

Given the hard work the posse puts in - week in, week out, it must be

The real object's constructor should be package private (default)

Therefore only classes in that package, i.e. the Proxy can instantiate
