Hi Rosemarie,
Why is it not a good idea to have the preview pane on?
If it relates to viruses or spyware, then there are ways to mitigate those
issues. If it relates to something I may not know about, could you let us
know why?
I have been using the preview pane ever since I started with e-ma
Thank you for this information. I've got to look at this. I've got this

I use preview pane also. It saves me time and key pressing.
I think the reason they suggest to turn it off is preventing from viruses
that automaticly jump on with the opening of infected messages. And it seems
that having the pane on is as if the message is opened.
I use it anyway.

Hi Negoslav,
There are ways to make sure the preview pane doesn't open or trigger any
viruses or spyware that may be contained in the message.
First and foremost is the amount of protection you have in terms of spyware
shields and virus protection. If these aren't available, then you have a

Yeah, thanks Victor for this information. I do the things you talk about,
except reding as playing text, and that's because jaws doesn't read
automaticly the mesages if this option is on. I have anty spy and antivirus
software so I don't worry much about the preview pane. It makes my life

Hi Victor, I discovered that once you change in the option in the
Adjust JAWS Options dialogue box, one has to press escape after
pressing space to change a setting. I found this out the hard way
when I always wondered why JAWS wasn't saving my custom Windows Mail
settings. Turned out that when
Flor,
I don't think Juice, my podcatcher will allow me to do that. It would be quite
confusing, anyway, because some of the podcasters choose not to use very
descriptive file names for their episodes, choosing instead to use a long
string of numbers or numbers and letters. Having each podcast
Hi David,

Hello, I use JAWS V. 9 for my screen reader. I use ZOOMTEXT for
magnification. I have found JAWS to be far superior over ZOOMTEXT as a
screen reader.
However, I prefer the voices available with ZOOMTEXT over those available
with JAWS.
Is there a way to incorporate the ZOOMTEXT voices into JAWS
Hi Steve,
Yes, but only if they are Sappi voices.
If you look in the language menu for change synthesizer, while in the Jaws
main window
and press enter, you will be presented with a list of available installed
synthesizers.

Does anyone have experience using Jaws with Minimum Data Set (MDS)?
If so, is MDS accessible?

Have you tried the Windows Find Files & Folders option? (Displaying all
files and folders.) (I have never used it in that way, though.) Could you
somehow select the files from the Juice Downloads list? You could deploy

Hello, I have an old copy of Kurzweil 1000 version 5.0 and it contains both
the AT&T Flextalk voices as well as the L&H true voice voices which are with
zoom text. They can be downloaded from Microsoft's website.

Darrin,
I believe that Juice stores it's files in you're my Documents in a
sub-folder called, My Received Podcasts. And I also believe that these are
in Mp3 format.
What Flor is suggesting will work for you and that is to do a find using the
wild card, *.mp3 for the file name.

Hello, I have an old copy of Kurzweil 1000 version 5.
Just a slight qualification to what I've said, for the academics among us.

is selected.

And in order to select some among intervening files, which is what Darin
wished to do, use ctrl+Down-Arrow to navigate and then ctrl+space to select
individual files. (I think the first one is always selected by default, so
it may be necessary to unselect that with ctrl+space, which is, natural
Orhan, I did a sapi 4 detect. True voice is not one of the options listed
after the detect.
Is there somethingg else I should do?

I have a shortcut to the Juice Podcast on my desktop and I play and manage
my podcasts in explorer rather than Juice. The folders are buried a little ,
4 folders deep. Oddly although I also believed after reading the help file
that they would be found in a folder called my received podcasts, they

A restore backup via DVDs is an option I am considering for my laptop
because of problems using and external drive.
I have been trying out a utility called CD Check which verifies the
