Hi, NVDA doesn't use Video Intercept Technology, but Window-Eyes, JAWS
and Hal does.

Hi,
I know this has been mentioned before, so I'm sorry for asking again.
I have the latest version of the Goldwave scripts which comes with a training
mode. Although this is nice, it can become somewhat verbose. I try to turn it
off with the keystroke Jaws key+grave, but that doesn't work.
Actually it was sent to me before hand and so I subscribed the person
myself, then it was sent to the list. I really think some days I should
drink more, but it is not in my nature.

It depends how you get the image.
The easiest way is probably to copy and paste.
If you navigate using the Jaws cursor to the image say in Internet Explorer
you simply right click or use application key and select copy from the
context menu. Now go to your word document and this will be

Hello, Maria,
I remember I had the same problem after installing
JAWS 8 Home Edition under
Windows XP Professional. Any chance that could be it?
(In my case, I had to request JAWS Professional; it
was that, or Windows
Home).
Hope it helps,

Yes, it's a pretty good bet that the video drivers are on the motherboard
CD. A second source would be the motherboard manufacturer's website. You'll
have to know the board's model number in order to find the latest drivers.
Keep your fingers crossed that the drivers are on the CD and that they
hi list,
I have recently tried gold wave 5.23 along with the scripts on the script
page and with jaws 9 it seems to crash jaws. It seems to work fine with jaws
8. I wonder if anyone has tried gold wave 5.23 and the scripts with jaws 9
and what results you've gotten.

NVDA should do just fine. No downloading window eyes as a demo I do not
believe will be of any value although I'm not sure if that program uses a
video intercept hook or not. You need to check the web site of your video
card to see if there are updated drivers or not. Once you find it save the
Hi. i have NVDA so how do I go about finding out what video drivers I
have and which ones I need? Could I go download a demo of window eyes
maybe would that work better just to get jaws up and running?
When I bought the computer they gave me a cd for the mother board and I
know it has audio

It would seem that the script works in OE but not in outlook 2000 at least.
It refers to a variable that is not present in outlook it would appear.

I'll see what I can come up with here shortly Alex. I placed the script in
outlook express yesterday but not in outlook yet which just occurred to me
even before reading your message. Stay tuned as they say.

Sorry folks, I know this subject has been done to death, but I'm still
having a problem. I copied the script given on the website, and replaced the
script in my Outlook scripts, and I'm afraid it now won't compile. Does
anyone have any suggestions?
Cheers.

Your post is in grade II braille. I know that the latest build of JAWS 8 is
compatible with Vista but I am not sure about earlier builds. If you are
using a notetaker you might need to adjust some settings.

At first, I thought it was my imagination, or that I was not typing
correctly. Now I know I am not the only one with this problem.

I agree with the last post that you may need to obtain an updated video
intercept driver. I know it won't be easy since jaws is working with a
handicap right now because I've done it in the past myself. I do keep a copy
of NVDA around for just such emergencies. It's good in pinch but not for
David, Thanks, it doesn't work with Outlook 2003 either, for the same
reason.
Cheers.

Hello list,
Since I'm a new member, sorry if my first one is a silly question:
I've noticed that there's a significant slow-down in the responsiveness of Word
2007 with JAWS 8. Is this only happening to me, or is it something already
dealed with in JAWS 9? Anything I can do to try to improve

I had the same problem with a new computer that I had just built. The
problem was solved when I installed updated video drivers. I would try going
to the computer manufacturer's website for the latest drivers. This may be
tough to do if Jaws is not functioning 100 percent. I know how
