except for the mic level. I'll call Plantronics and see what they say.

Hello,I copied Jaws onto a CD so I could use it on another computer. My
question is how do I create an autorun file so that it will start up
automatically once I place the CD in the computer? I'm using Jaws 10 and
windows Vista.
thanks,
Belinda
The heart has eyes which the brain knows nothing
Create a simple text file and call it autorun.inf
then inside of it place the following lines of text.
[autorun]
open=filename.exe
there you go, just make sure it is in the root directory and the path to the
file name is correct.

I've always wondered how to do that.

when you open Internet Explorer, is your outlook Express page maxed? I'm
thinking this is a focus issue.
before you go to IE, minimize all apps to the desktop, then open up internet
explorer.
just wondering if that might help jaws to see the correct window.
I've had a look to
EElaine, I think you're right about focus. What's the key stroke to
minimize? marilyn

Hi Marilyn
I use left windows logo key, the key to the right of the left ctrl key. +the
letter M for minimize.
this is a standard windows key, not jaws specific.
it minimizes all apps and puts focus on the desktop.
I use that when jaws appears to read strange things.

The keys elaine gave are correct. Windows key + M minimizes all open
windows. Jaws should then focus on the desktop again.

If Windows + m is not able to take you to the desktop, try the Windows + d
combination. It is a toggle. Pressing Windows + d once will minimize all
open windows. Pressing a second time will restore the windows to their
original state.

Donald,
Windows+d does not minimize all apps. It just lands you on the desktop
without chaiging any other window. Windows+m [m for minimize] should
minimize all apps, whether JAWS tells you so or not. These keystrokes
are independent of JAWS.

Ah, I see where the subject line problem lies with this particular

1. Press down the windows key and hold it down until I tell you
otherwise. 2. Press and let up on the m ke; and now let up on the
Windows key. Assuredly, at that point all apps have been minimized.
