It sounds like the built in pop up blocker is turned on. You can turn it off in the Tools menu. If you like the feature, you can leave it enabled and force it to open the link by holding down the Shift key when hitting Enter on the link. Don Marang

Actually, it's very easy to roll back to IE 7. Just go to Add/Remove Programs on the Control Panel, arrow down the list of programs until you land on Windows Internet Explorer 8, tab to the Remove button, and follow the prompts in the wizard. This will roll you back to IE 7, assuming that's
