Hi all, I am running windows 7 and jaws 11, latest update, on a 64 bit machine.
Lately, when I open an email in windows live mail, Jaws says, contains one
link, and then nothing. I try the jaws curser, and still nothing. In earlier
versions of jaws 11, it would read messages at least. How can I
Hi all,
Hi all,
I'm not sure if any on list are using a BraileNote Apex as a display with Jaws,
but if so, I'm wondering how to get the display to pan correctly. I
successfully connected it via bluetooth, and the panning options I thought were
set correctly, but the display isn't advancing
Hi Jim;
Have you tried unloading and restarting Jaws when this happens? I know this
is not a fix but, I'm just curious if doing this will help. I have
encountered times that when I open an email Jaws reads nothing and
unloading / reloading Jaws will stop the issue for the time being,
This usually does fix the problem for me. Yes, I do sometimes get this
happening with JAWS 11. I try a few other things first. My first attempt
is to press Control + Home to get to the top of the message, then Insert +
Escape to refresh the page, Then once again Control + Home to make sure
Thunderbird is a very good choice!
Personally I still prefer Outlook.
I'm currently using Outlook 2007, but I'm going to upgrade to Outlook/office
2010 very soon.
So I'd say: drop Windows Live Mail! :)

Mike, I have done that, and usually it works for awhile at any rate, but it
shouldn't do it at all. Hope jaws 12 fixes the issue. I wonder if system
access does this? Jim

Hi,
If you go through the JAWS Braille options, you'll find some new things
there that weren't in previous versions. These are to do with DOM Edit
Controls. Also, read the JAWS+F1 help associated with them. You might
want to turn them off completely, for instance for good reading (the way
Jim,
Would you happen to have Jaws10? If you do, I would uninstall Jaws11 and
install Jaws10 and see if this will work better for you. Personally I use
Jaws10 latest 99% of the time because of little issues like what you are
having and Jaws11 tends to lose focus a lot. It seems that people

Hi,
I did find that, but I'm not really sure what it all means, and even when I
change it to various settings, the display still isn't reading consecutive
lines. It will slip around. Admittedly it's slightly odd.
Thanks for any further help.

Hi Jim,
While I appreciate your preference for Windows Live Mail, I would
consider trying another client. I use Thunderbird and it works good. Ok
it works better with NVDA, but JAWS will work with it too. It works good
on both 32 and 64 bit operating systems, and in some ways appears like
Do a search on Microsoft.com's bing or Google. You can find links where you
can download a sixty-day trial but then you'll have to purchase Outlook
separately.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

JAWS probably doesn't 'support' this any more except under Windows XP.

I think you might be experiencing a problen with Windows Update where it
gets stuck and can not finish the update. This is fairly common. Common is
probably the wrong term because Windows Update workks flawlessly for a huge
majority of the time for an extremely huge number of users. However,
I'm wondering how much longer this thread will be permitted as it has gone
