The way I do it is to press insert plus space bar. Then I press the
letter o by itself. Then I press s by itself. This seems to work on my
machine.

Currently, I am having a problem and hope someone else may have solved
the trouble. I am using JAWS 13 and IE 8. When I log in to:

not read things in one resolution and more in

which blocks pop-up windows that may contain advertisements.
and the Alt + N, is to access the information bar.
The information bar notification sound alerts you that a program download
has been blocked.

The sound you are hearing is most likely the pop-up blocker.
As Janie stated, pressing the Shift + Enter keystroke will bypass it.
Some websites use a pop-up window to move you to another page on their site.
