Hi Neil,
That's because you're looking in the application settings, and not the
account settings.

Hello-
When I go on the internet it has become standard that each time my home page
or a different website loads I hear it load about 3 times. Is this a
computer issue or is JAWS repeating the information? I am using Windows 7
withJAWS 14 and IE 11.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Wayne
I'm pretty sure it's just JAWS reputing itself. I've gotten used to this
behavior. I suspect that the continuous flashing of the title line is
causing JAWS to read the updated text. You might be able to suppress this
using your verbosity settings.

In this case it not actually a comment. They did some thing like this a while
back probably moving from 12 to 13 when there was a major code change.

I believe it is because pages are often loaded from different sources, there is
probably the main text and then advertisements. So Jaws will announce the page
every time one of the various parts has finished loading. I don't think it can
be suppressed but I could be wrong about that.

As an addendum to my previous message, boy! am I glad I still have JAWS
15 on my laptop, as the turning off of the PC cursor is not an issue.
The ad blocker on JAWS 17 is not making me happy with the weird stuff
that it seems to be manifesting.

OK, here's what's happening. I installed an add blocker today and told
my WinAmp not to manage my external drive. Those are the changes for today.
So now when I have WinAmp open and my Thunderbird open, my emails act as
graphics and can be read with the JAWS cursor but not the PC cursor.

Not sure I understand. Are you saying that JAWS 17 has an ad blocker built
in? I do understand that different versions of JAWS may indeed have
different behavior, especially since JAWS 17 is still in its infancy.

Hi,
Not sure if it'll change anything regarding JFW working any better but I'm
sure glad to at least have a means of being able to interact with it while
we wait.

No. I installed an ad blocker this morning for IE 11. Now weird things
are happening with JAWS 17 when I open WinAmp.

Robin,
That is good news.
I "cheat" & use my little bit of vision with MAGic to cope with that function
right now but it is nice to know that Narrator will do the job if JAWS does not.

No. The WinAmp setting is the same for both versions of JAWS.
I even removed the ad blocker program, but the problem with the vertual
PC cursor remains when switching between programs. This does not happen
in JAWS 15 but only with 17. I haven't tried 16.

That's sure strange. Is it possible that WinAmp is using the settings file
for IE, rather than its own settings file? That might mean the settings for
your browser carry over to WinAmp, and change things like the virtual
cursor.
