Also, what I do is make sure I only have certain windows open when I need
them. So you might try alt+e, alt+g, and alt+v etc to make sure all the
windows, apart from of course the main window, are closed.

Hmm this is very strange, as I have jaws v9.0.515 running here with word
2003 and it works great, better, in fact, than jaws 8. I can't remember if

Can I just add that if using jaws9, apparrently you can just left-click and
whatever balloon which is on the screen should be automatically focused and
clicked on, but I haven't got this to work yet.

On my laptop, you need to go in to bios by holding f8 when you turn on your
computer, and disable and enable it in there. Note that there will be no
speech in bios, so sited assistance will be needed.

Try taskbar and start menu properties, there is a setting for auto scroling
of menus.

If you want the latest version, you have to get the full installer I think,
but there are checkboxes in the installer to select what you want and what
you don't want to install.

Load jaws 8, go in to basic settings, then uncheck box that says
automatically start jaws. Then do the same in jaws 9 but check the box
instead of unchecking it.

live messenger, version 8.5.

No, insert and m does not do anything usually in jaws, that is what my
hotkey is for muting jaws also.

If you have set up the control + shift + m, just press that hot key again
and jaws will say speech on, however when you press it to switch off the
speech, jaws will just go silent, it will not say anything like speech of,
but it will be muted, so don't worry.
