Instructions for using the OCR feature are located in the help menu.
After bringing up the help menu, arrow to What's New and you should find
some instructions for the OCR feature under What's New.
I haven't used this feature yet so I can't offer any other help.

Brian, Everything is working fine now. I had to turn off my computer and
reboot. It was as simple as that.

Hello, I use them both at the same time. I have them both come on at start
up.
I basically use ZoomText for Magnification and color enhancement
And, I use JAWS for my primary speech software.
But, I do have some vision and can read text with enough magnification.
So, in answer to your question,
To turn off speech in Zoom Text:
Press, alt plus shift plus s.
This is a toggle, the same key combination turns speech back on.
