Yup, pci is going the way of the old ISA long slots. The reason is PCIE
or PCI-Express supports parallel communications at a faster rate than PCI,
and are each on their own channel, so you don't have as many interrupts

I'd get it with the GForce only because you may want or even need it later,
and since we're talking about a laptop, either you do it now or you'll be
stuck with out it. I don't know, but I've been told
Speech is likely slowing the machine down so much that it flat out
doesn't matter what graphics card you use. Unless someone has actually
benchmarked the machine with speech running and found a difference in
graphics cards, I posit there isn't one.

On a 3.0 quad with 4mbg of ram. Used a GForce and a ATI graphic card
both have almost the same specs. Found that the GForce card read more
with jaws. In the graphic world ATI is on the low end of the scale
for all bench marks to GForce.

I am buying a customised laptop from HP and have the choice of Intel HD 4000
or Gforce GT 630m 2GB graphics card. I'd really appreciate if someone with
relevant knowledge can advise me which card may work better with Jaws?
This is a HP DV6 model with I7 2.4 Intel quadcore processor,
I would use the GForce GT 630, because the more you take the load off
the processor the faster everything will go regardless of how much ram.

The important question to me is, if the video is in a special mode
anyway because speech software is running, how much actual difference
would it actually make. Has anyone tried running any test with speech
enabled? I've always assumed a separate graphics card would be better,
but frankly,

Your not using it for speech. Your using it to handle a op that is
highly graphic and the faster and smoother it runs. The less problems
you get with speech.

I am using Windows 7, Jaws 11, and IE 9. I want the Jaws settings to show all
graphics not tagged graphics when I open a website. Every page I open that I
need a specific graphic to show I have to go in and change the setting from
tagged graphics to show all graphics.
I think it is the
graphics spoken solves any of those problems.

Hi folks,
When one encounters graphics on a screen represented by different numbers, is
there a web site or somewhere to go to that defines these numbers?
Thanks,

haven't found one yet. If the programmer used standard controls. Then
they are label by jaws. To see you can open the program and rout jaws
to pc. Then put it on a graphic and do a insert + control + g to label them.
If they used custom controls. Then you will have to get someone with

Hi All,
I could have sworn I saw a graphics file for AVG and Jaws.
Does this currently exist, and if so, where can I get it for download?
I thought I had seen it on the Jaws user's web site, but I can't seem to find
it there anymore.
Victor
Visit the JAWS Users List home page at:
It should still be on the scripts page.

yeah make sure it's graphic xxx, where xxx is a number. not sure if the
numbers are just random or if there's some kind of patern or something

Hi,
I'm trying to use a database program that uses many graphics. I place the

on a graphic. I've had a sighted friend verify that I am on the graphic.
If I press the left mouse button of Jaws, it performs the function
