After adding your ram, did you do another authoration?
Maybe your jaws isn't working in the right way for that reason.

I had an unusual problem which I hope that someone can shed some light on.
I am using Jaws latest version 8 on Window XP SP2 Home.
I was putting my computer in hibernation when the window error sound
was heard on my speakers. I had to get my wife to look at the monitor
