I think the pool hands out connections associated with a transaction,
doesn't it? Unless JAWS uses a different API than everybody else does, then
you can't set the isolation level in JAWS, it has to be done by the pooling

It goes both ways. For the last two JavaOne's the HotSpot guys have been
very adament about the fact that you should not use pools. IBM uses a
different approach and a recent article still recommends pools. I want to
believe the HotSpot guys as it simplifies programming.

It seems like there is a JSR for everything nowadays. I was a little
frustrated when I found out that there was a logging JSR, which would imply
that one day everyone will be using it by default cause it is a 'javax' or
'java' package and possibly even included in the jdk.
Does that mean it is

element. A jndi-name is a very arbitrary form and I don't agree that its safe
to strip the white space.

it is bad... and does it even belong there? Especially in the JDK, why not
an extension or something.
