To me it seems that JBoss-IDE does not force any ablsolute paths, just as Ant doesn't.
What's more and handy, it's possible to give the paths in xdoclet-build.properties.

hi everyone!
i'm trying to follow a tutorial on how to use JBoss IDE.
right now, i'm with the part JBoss Configuration and Launch but i encountered some
problems.
i went to Run - Debug and tried to create a new instance of JBoss configuration. it
threw an exception:
!ENTRY
The NPE has been fixed (in CVS head). Regarding the static singleton locking strategy
I think we'll have to have one individual factory per TreeCache.
Ben ?

What I'm wondering is if JBossCache is capable of:
1. Running in a Java client without a J2EE container and still participate somehow in
a distrubted cache.
Yes
2. Avoid firewall issues by connecting to a servlet on our web server in order to
become a part of the cache.

I've forgiven delay :)

Hi all,
my apologies if this is the wrong forum for this sort of thing but this was my best
guess.
I'm tasked with building a JDK 1.4.x compatible JBoss/Nukes combination and I'm
totally new at this game of ant based builds.
I've retrieved the nukes 2.0 src (as of 31-aug-2004) from the
i had the same problem and tried what oz59 said and it worked.

that is in xerces, did you setup the env variable JBOSS_HOME to a JBoss distribution ?
I can remove that dependency since I know a way to do it without.

I just uploaded version 1.1 of JBossCache. Details can be found at
http://www.jboss.org/wiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JBossCache.
The main new feature of this version is the inclusion of CacheLoaders, which allows a
cache to fetch elements that are not in memory from a backend store, and store

this is due to the fact that objects in the cache that is residing in the same JVM as

classes of these objects are accessible to the current ejb's classloader anymore. This

This classloading issue is also disucssed here:

There is really no good (optimized) solution to it except to have another in-vm cache

I have also put it under the latest FAQ. Check it out.

I've tried looking through the forum (the search function creates a lot of
exceptions!) but didn't find anything on this.
I've used the JBossIDE for a while. I like it. I've used it for EJBs and remote
debugging - no problems, the docs seemed to cover everything I needed.

I have a proposal to make deployments more atomic.
What this will is that any failure for a deployment or subdeployment forces
the whole deployment (top-level and subdeployments) to be undeployed.
The idea is to rollback after a failure in the MainDeployer, both the top-level
deployment and the
These file are from CVS head (a.k.a. JBoss 4.x). It requires JDK 1.4 to run, so I
don't suppose it works on JDK 1.3.x.
Ben Wang will backport the current release within the next 2 weeks, so it will be
available on JBoss 3.2.x as well. This should run on JDK 1.3.x.

The main problem with this approach, is that the deployment failures will no longer
appear in the summary list of incomplete deployments at the end of the bootstrap,
(they won't exist at this point).
This could be mitigated, by holding failed deployments in a separate datastructure

Hi,
Sorry if this is a trivial question. When I run javadoc on my source files it produces
warning messages for XDoclet tags. For example:
warning - @ejb.bean is an unknown tag.
I know that this is not strictly speaking a JBoss IDE question, but it is a side
effect of its usage, so I'd

what is the stance on 1.4 based code?
what's the best way to contribute the code (via the forurm, is there an alternate
mailling list)?
thanks.
