Thanks for the report -- I'm going to try removing the JBoss AOP Java Editor
from the AOP extension completely in an upcoming release. I think I can do most
of what I need to do in that class using the Eclipse Selection API (which I was
ignorant of when I wrote the editor extension)
It allows you to pre-compile the JSPs so the container doesn't have to, thus saving
you testing time :).

This is what I expected. It is definately a bug, and I've pushed the fix out to CVS.
Here's a brief rundown on what's going on:
The first time you use something from a supplied plugin (in this case, the New AOP
Project Wizard), Eclipse starts up that plugin by calling a method "start" within the

This isn't really IDE related, but I'll try to answer anyway ;).
What configuration are you running when you call run.bat? If you're not specifying a
certain configuration, you probably want to try running w/ the "all" configuration.
i.e:
run.bat -c all

We are planning on re-packaging JBossIDE so useful functionality (aka XDoclet, JBoss
Server Administration, AOP, etc..) can be used seperately, or as extensions bundled
with / without the main distribution. I'll have more details about this soon =)

It looks like you've downloaded jboss to the computer called "DesktopPC" and you are
trying to run it from under that Shared Folder. Basically, I think you just need to
copy the \\DesktopPC\jboss folder to a local directory on your machine. (C:\jboss, for

It looks like you're running JBoss remotely from a SMB share? I've honestly never
tried this before, but my first guess would be to move the installation over to a
local folder on the server, and try it again.

I'm guessing that the Lomboz J2EE Project Wizard uses out of date libraries. You might
want to file a bug report with them..
