I assume you are doing a CMP bean. In that case, you also need to
identify the datasource in your jaws.xml file:
SQLServer
SQLServer

etc. Use EJX to set that up. Just make sure to set the datasource to
the jboss.conf MLET name you gave

You are not the first to want to use MS SQL Server. Others have tried,
and have run into problems with the mappings of dates and times. There
is (temporarily) much more tracing now in JAWS than there used to be, to
help us diagnose type mapping (and other) problems.

As part of my EJB self-education, I tried hooking up MS SQL Server
to Jboss (PR4). The problem is that my bean works when it is auto-deployed,
but after jboss is restarted, it picks up the wrong data source.
Maybe it's obvious but I can't see what's wrong.

This seems to have worked. I do not exactly understand why ... but my client
code successfully uses an EJB on the remote App server now.
I guess I can get the JNDI/RMI docs from Sun (to brush-up on what they
shoulf be doing)

I have just added a temporary dir to the jBoss server, called /tmp. All
temporary files should go here.
In addition, I changed the ContainerFactory to copy deployed jars there
(/tmp/deploy/). The CF also cleans up this directory upon
initialization.
This way the systems tmp dir won't clutte

I have the weirdest problem with the new jBoss CVS. Basically, I try to
deploy the bank application. Under PR4 it works fine. Under CVS it fails
(see first server trace). If I then *remove* the bank.jar file and put
TestBeans.jar into the deploy directory, jBoss deploys my bank applicat
