OK, this is in in a much more generally useful way, I think. See

new feature: load xxx.pdb filter TYPE i,n

so then for segID, it might look like:
load xxx.pdb filter type 73,4
display atomtype=PROA
Var proagroups = {atomtype=PROA}
select *.ca and atomtype=PROA

Bob,
Two questions:
1) The mep problem that I'm seeing consistently produces the following message
on FF while it's grinding away. Does this message suggest anything to you?
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can
stop the script now, or you can continue
Hi Otis,
From the UK and clearing the cache before each test I get 11-13 sec for ISU
and 8-9 sec for Chemagic.
Mac OS 10.8.2 Safari 6.0.2
Could it be that you are physically closer to the Chemagic server on your
network?
All the best

Dear Robert Hanson:
Thanks so much for providing a fix for this.
I know you are extremely busy, and it really demonstrates how responsive
the Jmol team really is.
Thanks again.
Very warm regards,

Thanks Nick,
I'm in Florida, CheMagic is in North Carolina, and ISU is in Illinois, so
that's not the problem.
This is frustrating. I just don't get it. Nevertheless, I guess I should put
13.1.12_dev on CheMagic just to make sure it's not a server issue.

I'm pretty sure I can help you out, Eric, but not right now. You'll
need to give me some time.
First shot: have to tried to wrap the jmolApplet() call in a div that
has style float?

Master Java SE, Java EE,
ah, That Jmol13.zip file has a debug line in it that will vastly slow it
down. Please download again if you happened to do that this morning. I've
uploaded a fix.

Ah, that fix solves my problem also - ISU and CheMagic. Both servers are now
running the fixed version. Three seconds to mep on both servers. I'm happy,
Mickey is happy, and Minnie is happy.
Thanks, Bob
