The WRITE command writes pixel for pixel exactly what is on the screen,
provided you are using
set antialiasDisplay
so perhaps it's an issue with that. You could always use
zoom 80
zoom 90
(as in percent) to get a bit more margin before issuing the WRITE command.

Works great! I had forgotten about backticks because I was using "system."
I had some awful syntax issues (I'm on windows - my double quotes versus
single quotes seem to work backwards form what your code uses sometimes -
I'm on windows, wonder if that matters), but got it working, which I would

For example, your database shows structures. What's the best default
orientation to show such that the longest side of the box is along X and
the shortest depth is toward the user?

The easiest way to invoke a program and get the results back
The second scenario - I never even see the GUI. I am using jmol.jar, not
the applet (although I gather the distinction between the two or at least

Hi,
This is probably a dumb question, but I've gone too long without figuring
this out. I'm using Perl, but I assume this would apply to any language
other than Javascript where one cannot simply access Jmol's data structures:
How do I get data out of Jmol and into my script?

What I am seeing is indeed that the browser prints the HTML5 version all

Hi Bob
Interesting. I'm still guessing what this would be useful for but, since you
mention the box, it could be nice to have a way to draw that box also, with or
without the rotation.
