Are you thinking in terms of double/float conversion, maybe?
Jmol does not change coordinates given in files read by its readers.

I am new to the mail list. Would there happen to be more detailed user manual
anywhere to describe the interface of JMOL? Information on using JMOL with
Dalton or how to keep coordinates consistent with the calculations run in the
quantum chemistry program would be helpful.

I've recently noticed this as well and just made the change suggested below...
at least now a Jmol window appears and attempts to load something but I also
get an alert saying 'Application Blocked by Security Settings' and I don't know
which further settings I need to change.

version from a different site, and I can apply various different JAR files

yes, right around two weeks ago. Sorry to hear that it affected the
workshop. Such a pain. But that simple fix does do the job. I'm having no
more problems on my machine.
