I cannot seem to get the JSmol menu to open (14.0.4):

For comparison, the menu opens just fine with the Java applet:

I have the same problem with JSmol 14.0.13 in local testing.
Is JSmol too close
Dear Bob,
Current Jmol does not recognize the hydrogen in water as belonging to
water. As The hydrogens are in 'hoh' but not in 'water'.
This bug appears to have crept in between 14.0.11 and 14.0.12.
Consider 7AHL which has 818 water oxygens and 1,636 water hydrogens,
for 2,454 total water
I confirm something similar, Otis, but not random. 100% reproducible:
in Firefox on Mac OS 10.9.1 Mavericks. I am not doing anything else
concurrently. No inducing activity is needed.
When I run test2.htm from the URL you gave, a small molecule

I'm running 14.1.12_2014.3.21 and it's OK Mac Safari, Chrome, and Firefox. This
is OS 10.9.2 Mavericks.
I've been keeping a close eye on iPad, and this version of JSmol runs really
well on iPad Air and iPad 2.

and JSmol ….4.10 running locally or over the network.Have not tried other
browsers. It’s as if something is going on in the background. For me the
manipulation of the structure is quite jerky, freezes, then is
I can confirm these observations:
At http://chemapps.stolaf.edu/jmol/jsmol/test2.htm caffeine disappear
when rotated with the mouse on Mac (OS X, 10.9.2) in Firefox (28) and in
Safari (7.0.3)
The same site/molecule works fin in Firefox(28)/Win 7.
