I also tried java -jar Jmol.jar and did not work.
I downloaded jmol-11.6.1-full.tar.gz file. I have a Jmol window with a
menu at the top but with only one icon option (open a file) and nothing
else.
I cklicked on this option and tried to load a pdb file and nothing happened.

Is there a menu at the top?
