No, the tiles are cached only in memory. It is because of licence reasons,
and because nobody implemented caching to disk.

I implemented load, save (but the files are incompatible with current
version), start automatic downloading, stop automatic downloading. I also
implemented synchronization between threads, so only one tile is
downloaded at the moment. I integrated Yahoo support (read further).

print the output of the webpage to png file (or better to stdout)

I made improvement to paste (and by consequence also to duplicate)
function in JOSM. Now, it is pasting the object on the position of mouse
cursor instead of placing it into middle of screen. I was wery tiring for
me, when I was maping big garden colony (huge amount of same houses) to
32 matches
