You can specify rules using plugin options. Take a look at "rules":

I checked and yes they actually do validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional,
however, I'm using XHTML 1.1 which doesnt like
Martin probably just concerned about the characters in classname ({:,}).
Well they are valid in class names in XHTML 1.0 strict. So no wories :)
