I made a mistake, setting /cocoon=cocoon allows me to use
http://my_server/my_webapp/cocoon/news.xml instead of
http://my_server/my_webapp/servlet/cocoon/news.xml
But I might be able to use
http://my_server/my_webapp/news.xml directly
