Larry,
I also have a Vista computer at home. I didn't want to commit to
fixing any Vista bugs currently, because my plate is full with other
tasks, but that doesn't mean I won't have the opportunity to do this
in the future.
I would be happy to test any Vista bug fixes.

This weekend I'm building a new Vista PC so I can work on this and
other Vista bugs.

It is probably a JUMP problem due to the custom list cell rendering.
It probably won't get fixed until one of us developers gets a Vista
system.

Sounds like this is a Java problem and not an OpenJUMP problem. Should
we add something to the wiki to let OpenJUMP users on Vista know about
it?

Hi Larry,
the error is not fixed!
There is still no text in the ComboBoxes
with original Vista LookAndFeel.

Hi Larry,

Hi Barbara,
yes, that is exactly what I mean!
I work with JRE 1.6_01.
You can avoid this behavior if you use the MetalLookAndFeel!
Use the following option in the openjump.bat file:
start javaw -Dswing.defaultlaf=javax.swing.plaf.metal.MetalLookAndFeel

I've been running 6 for a while now at work and at home. I've run
numerous Java apps on Vista with no problems with the exception of this
one Uwe is reporting.

@Barbara and Uwe: What version of Java are you running OJ under?
Have you tried 6?

Uwe,
Sorry, I misunderstood the problem the first time. Now I think I see
what you mean. If I select:
Tools>Queries>Spatial Query and then select a layer from the Source
Layer combo box, my choice doesn't display. However, as soon as I click
on another combo box, or on the OK or Cancel buttons,
Thanks for the verification Barbara.

I just checked SkyJUMP on Vista and don't seem any problems with combo
boxes on any of the menus.

My Google search of "Vista Swing Combo Boxes" didn't turn up any
information about a problem. I suspect if this was common to Swing on
Vista there would be some relevant hits. This makes me suspect that
something is wrong with our code?
Can anyone verify that Swing combo boxes have problems on Vis
mhm.. as you reported a problem before on comboboxes..
it sounds like vista is a new challange for Sun (Java).
Maybe we wait for a new java release since microsoft is setting up
standards as they want... i know it is a stupid comment

Hi,
under Windows Vista I have view-problems with some
combo-boxes!
For example:
1. Tools>Generate>Buffer...
2. The text of the Layer-ComboBox is not visible!
Also with all Query-tools!

Uwe
