The JUNOS software only supports a limited number of USB flash devices, as
indicated in the list of Supported Third-Party Hardware in the J-series
Services Router Release Notes. I believe other devices are

AFAIK ip an MPLS network your P routers will run PIM-SSM an multicast groups
will be set up from within the vrf at the respective PEs. The PE nearest the
source will assume RP capability.

Mike,
Try leaving off the "as-primary" keyword when doing the snapshot to
the USB.
The "as-primary" keyword is only necessary if the destination of your
snapshot will be used in the primary CF slot. So, don't use it when
doing the snapshot to the USB device, but once you're booted off the
I'm trying to upgrade the CF card in a j2300 from 128M to 2gig. I know
it can be done but for some reason I'm having problems with this. I have
a 256meg usb drive plugged in and do a 'request system snapshot media

To add a little of my experience (lots of such configs in my network),
I've always ran into trouble when playing with 802.3ad with interfaces
that are on different FPC (facing a Cisco 6506).
On the contrary, I have only good experience when the 802.3ad trunk is
on the same PIC.
Maybe that helps
I know there is a problem with auto-rp, as it will not work with logical
routers (PR 76129). But I'm not sure about any other multicast limitations
on logical routers. As far as VPN and MPLS I have a lab where I use 4
logical routers to create a VPN and it works fine.

Problem was solved.
If it is interesting for someone, there was firewall filter applied on
Lo interface in master routing instance. It permit only definite
neighbours for LDP session.

Hello,
You will need an AS-PIC or ES-PIC with your M20 in
order to form an IPSec tunnel (both sides will require
one of these PICs). You can form GRE or IPIP tunnels
with the tunnel PIC but not IPSec.

Hi,
I'm new at Juniper world, I would like to know how can I configure an encrypted
tunnel between two Juniper M-20 across internet. I have found some examples but
they all asume I have an ES or AS PIC. I just want to know if it's possible to
configure IPSec with pre-shared keys, IKE, etc...
