I don't think you can partition HDD from scratch with request system snapshot partition. In fact, you cannot run request system snapshot partition even if HDD has JUNOS 8.5 on it and flash has 8.5. Temporarily pulling a flash out and using a PCMCIA card to repartition and reinstall the same
