VC port carries inter switch traffic (potentially large) and also some
state replication traffic. (not very much)
The answer mostly depends on how much your inter-switch traffic are.

I used ex4200 to do exactly what you did before. ex4200 releases is pretty
rock solid, feature extensive, although with lower arp entry limits.
Given the price difference maybe you can connect each l2 domain to its own
ex4200 and have them do ospf routing among selves, which maybe give you

More over, I guess my quest is to find a device that support
1) per flow hashing with as many as ECMP route as possible. (not sure how
many ECMP route is supported)
2) consistent hashing (existing flow

So this would break the existing session only if different (per path)
security/nat/balancer devices are crossed and states are nod synced among
them.

which says 16/32/64 but it was only mentioning
Would someone help to create one?
reducing TCP-MSS is really just a compare write on a fixed location in IP
header, should be a simple enough operation., but without it half the world
doesn't work quite right with tunnels (GRE tunnels on ex)., due to
malfunctioning pmtu, so we kind of stuck with
Well I don't have a active support contract, looks like this would
become exactly another forgotten case...

Does EX4200 support changing TCP-MSS on transit packets?
I'm trying to use ex4200 as a simply gateway, and I need to lower
tcp-mss on outgoing packets since the return path maybe tunneled. This
seems to be a simple enough per-packet filtering operation, does EX
switch support this?
Cheers.
You need to use selective packet mode, not full packet mode to use ipsec.

Hi,
VCP cable for EX switch looks a lot like a plain SFF-8088 cable, can
someone confirm? SFF-8088 cable is sold $10 on ebay, while the VCP
cable is at least $100...
Cheers.

The datasheet is conveniently vague here, Do any know whether these two
support BGP? and how much instances/peers can they support? Also, do they
have wire routing capability (suspiciously missing from data sheet too)
BTW: Why is it so hard to get a cheap decent l3 switch? EX2200-C looks
