if you are looking for a temporary workaround, then you could periodically
check if the jdhcpd process is running and if it isn't, then restart it.
Something like this:

In the past I have used traceoptions, which was helpful.
Under system, processes, dhcp-service, traceoption

JUNOS implements many of the standard SNMP MIBs, which include

Hello
On one of my MX204 routers the DHCP relay crashes after some running
time and the process stops. It is not restarted automatically but will
start again with the following command:

I feel like I hit this once and had to use a rib-group.
But it would probably be helpful to see the relevant configs in full.

Yeah when I use that I have both 1. a similar problem (replies are not
sent to the destination vrf) and 2. the router won't forward replies to
destination PE routers anymore.

Did you apply local prefix leaking feature using auto-export to get multiple
vrfs talking on same PE ?

Auto export to get multiple vrfs taking on some PE ?

I have no trouble with dhcp relay between VRFs across MPLS PE routers,
but across VRFs on the same router, the relay daemon fud fails.
If I turn on debugging, I am always getting:

I'm troubleshooting a network issue with an appliance that isn't getting on our

Hello,
I'm trying to set up dhcp relay with option 82 on a juniper srx210-hm
(10.1R1.8).
The relay works well but when I configure under the interface ([edit
forwarding-options helpers bootp interface XXX], or under the bootp
global configuration ([edit forwarding-options helpers bootp]) this :
9.6R1 is an old release. As far as I seen, DHCP relay functions were fixed in
later releases, try to upgrade to 9.6R2 or R3.

Hi All,
I'm using (or at least trying to) extended DHCP Relay on JunOS 9.6R1.3
on M7i. I have noticed that when you enable DHCP relay on an interface
then it drops transit traffic that is udp port 67 on *any* interface.
I have a JTAC ticket open and they are telling me this is expected

No, that's not required here.

Hi all,
I need to do dhcp-relay on a Juniper M20 here. This is the setup:
M20 with 2x GigE for the customer-links and required is a dhcp-relay
from ae0.199 to ae0.200 which is the net of the dhcp-server.
This is the configuration:
