I've been compiling kernels for many years, even before RH6... Did RH
6.. 7.2 ... 7.3 .. now 9.
Why is RH9 so much slower than any other ?? About 60% slower, thats
a LOT ! These
were compiled all on the same machine. RH7.3 was the fastest.

Xconfig is failing for kernel>=2.4.11. The breakage appears to be in the
network code
