I have found sort of a solution by using a program called tlp. There is a gui
interface for it called tlpui. It fixes the problem, sort of, but it allows

Also, I have 2 setups one Fedora 36 and one openSUSE Tumbleweed. The issue is

In the proposed case the previous search text can remain in the search box (as

Edit: after some testing it seems as the Global Menü addon is the culprit.
Removing it from top bar makes "Add Plasmoid" (aka Miniprogramme in German)
