I read the comments for bug 423993, and respectfully I really think you
should reevaluate.
Instead of saying what the thumbnail bar is for, ask what the thumbnails
themselves are for and what we should be able to do

I'm aware, but I still think thumbnails should behave consistently. They
represent images, and right clicking should provide options for what you

Well, my take on this is if you want to convert video files, you will probably
want to do it repeatedly, to batches of files. Hence, the BQM. Also once
that's implemented, I can imagine applying other base too

There is an option in
Settings / Configure digikam / Metadata / Behaviour / Reading and Writing
Metadata / Update file timestamps when files are modified
which when turned OFF, export to Google Photos does not
