Sorry,. right click on the panel -> Enter Edit Mode -> select Auto Hide for the
visibility.

Sorry, but I'm a bit confused here now. What is the exact problem? Does the
panel fail to hide or does it fail to unhide when e.g. you press the Super key
to open the menu?

I removed the panel and was forced to add one again because the menu is part of
the panel. It doesn't come up when I press the key assigned for it.
