I downloaded the full ISO, installed it on a USB stick (using Windows'
Universal USB Installer, since usb-creator-gtk crashed constantly) and
booted from it.
Anyway, there was an upgrade of the kernel to 3.11.0-13-generic. I am
running the standard Ubuntu 13.10 with kernel 3.11.0-13-generic and
I meet this problem on saucy too. So will the patch be backported to
saucy soon? Thanks.

Well: I uninstalled nvidia-current while testing 13.10 beta for it was
broken with my system and stuck with nouveau. Regarding standby Live
12.04 is not working as well as 13.10. I installed nvidia-current now
and standby is working again. So this is fairly probably an issue with
