This bug only occurs when a specific kernel or other issue is wrapped
into the live ISO. When any additional hdd are disconnected the live ISO
boots fine and install can commence. Install will then go fine and the
kernel and system as a whole will work correctly.

Hard-coded crashkernel=... memory reservation in /etc/grub.d/10

reports connection refused, while on real filesystems or on tmpfs it
works fine.
Steps to reproduce (/var is ext4, /tmp is tmpfs.):

I am currently posting from the LiveUSB. The Mini DisplayPort is
functioning, although with some strange artifacts, and occassionally a
very noticeable amount of lag. The port is not recognised as an audio
device, so all audio must come from the computer itself.
