I've been having this issue also. After a conversation in #ubuntu on
IRC, someone pointed out a script for /etc/pm/sleep.d
The script as shown below seems to have fixed this issue, although it is
(at least to me) a workaround.

This bug seems to be affecting me as well. I have the same laptop as
kanor mentions, the ASUS UX301LA. When the bluetooth device is blocked
via rfkill, the hci0 device shows up properly under hciconfig. However,
when the bluetooth device is unblocked, hci0 vanishes.
For example:
$ sudo rfkill

any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an
issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development
release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from
