linux-generic-lts-utopic" command, but I think it's fixed in 3.13 kernel.
After re-tested with newer kernels, I noticed that with the 14.04 stock kernel
(3.13.0-24), there is no "Synaptics Touchpad" in xinput output:

kernels, you don't get a screen freeze at boot unless running
"nomodeset" or the proprietary Nvidia drivers? I boot with the kernel

which I also updated. Then from the mainline kernel list I downloaded the

I have the same misbehaviour with kernel 3.19.0-7-generic on Ubuntu
15.04. Synclient -l shows that the ClickPad is activated - but it
doesn't react.

Hmm, right commit ecf6ba83, the fix for this bug, is in mainline as of
3.19 final, so Vivid should already have the fix for both bugs.
Maybe I'll build a Utopic test kernel using the master-next branch.
