An update on this bug - since moving to Ubuntu 16.04.2 (which ships with
4.8), I can no longer seem to reproduce any wireless network downages.
This also applies to 4.10.
What I can't seem to understand, though, is why the kernel keeps wanting
a file named `ath10k/QCA6174/hw3.0/firmware-5.bin` - i

Christopher, I'm aware on how to change the status, as said, I'd wanted
to test 4.8 again to make sure it wasn't a coincidence. Finally also the
updated hwe-stack of 4.8 works as expected. Thanks for your work. This
bug was never invalid, 4.4 was always an issue which 4.8-hwe fixed.

When I have the OP's original issue, lost connection after resume and
only one network listed, simply running "sudo iw wlp3s0 scan" makes
everything work again, without having to reload the module.
I am sure I have seen the lost connection after resume without any
