With the recent nvidia drivers (two or three releases), if I switch ON
the external monitor (HDMI) and OFF the laptop one, the UI (Gnome)
responds very late to input, causing a seconds delay between click and

the system log finishes at going to sleep, we can conclude this is
either a kernel bug or a BIOS issue.
I suggest the next thing to try should be to look in the BIOS and change
the sleep mode if you can. Try switching between
Fresh installation Ubuntu 20.04 LTS with all updates / Fresh
installation with all updates 22.04 LTS.
