Hi NickOe,
tanks for testing it!
The issues you describe I didn't experienced it yet, would you like to try a
latest version?
I am testing on a linux machine and on a windows machine.
What CPU do you have?
On Raytracing, complex boards will take about 10seconds per CPU core just for
Initial open of the 3d viewer which seems to alsways revert to opengl, so far.
which version are you testing?
in which os?
with revision 5909 if I close pcbnew when my 3d-viewer were in
Raytracing, the next start will conserve Raytracing option and don't
revert to opengl...

Hi Nick,
I have a desing in similar complexity as that board and maybe a bit
less, but it takes 17 seconds to load the board in the 3d view,
whereas in the 3d viewer in 4.0.2 it takes 3 seconds for it to render
in the 3d viewer.
are you talking about Raytracing or OpenGL?
If you are talking

Thanks.
In fact, many users are unaware of import capabilities of Pcbnew

I noticed that there is a depends missing in the msys2 the hard way
instructions. The attached patch adds glm and the mingw toolchain.

Hi Mario
I just tried your branch the other day, but there the raytracing did
not seem work properly at all. It was not rendering anything sometimes
and when it did it was one of the very low res views. I don't remeber
the revno, have you see this before? (I have not tried the latest of

Hi!
I just now noticed that BOM plugins from eeschema are executed in
background on Windows OS. And if create plugin that executes an app with
GUI, it does not be shown.
In my case, I am launch the python app using pythonw and it runs (I can see
it in task manager) but does not shows. I found
