Have a look inside the PDF file itself using a text editor. Sometimes if
an error occurs on generation, error messages will end up in there
rather than the PDF content.

a number of database products. The one usually called Oracle
Database will not work with Koha, however Oracle also have MySQL which
works very well with Koha.

The absolute ideal would be CC-BY-SA, as that's a very close analogue
with the GPL, but most CC licenses would work provided it doesn't
include Non-Commercial or No-Derivatives.

for disk caching, and you could experiment with disk fsync()
commit options (i.e. by making it not require data to be written back
before returning.) This has risk though, but if you're careful, it could
well be acceptable, for example just needing to a full reindex in case
of a power outage.
