If you have a suspected area you can buy Dye Penetrate in a bottle and brush
it on. Does a great job. We get ours from Aircraft Spruce but I'll bet you
can get it at NAPA. If you have trouble finding it let me Know we are deals
with Spruce and get a decent discount and I will send you a bottle.

I managed to get the manual trim system out of there and then fit the new
RAC system.
I will not use a old style case, if you use a old VW case make sure it is a
daul relief case and use the high volume oil pressure relief springs never use
a case without it being line bored wether for aircraft or car if going bigger
than 1835 then for sure use a new case I prefere the aluminum
Buy a new one if you can. There are only certain numbers on the old ones
that can be used. When I had to do this many years ago, the only ones I
could find were the bad ones. In fact, the case that cracked, turned out to
be one of the bad ones.

Sorry, in posting the note about landing/taxi lights I put in the wrong E-mail
address for the pictures. I had: www.zoomshare.com. The correct address is:
www.sharkdriver.zoomshare.com.
The pictures are under the album listed as Taxi/Landing lights.

Unless you want the rather considerable expense of thorough
non-destructive testing ~ ~ ~ such as dye-penetrant and
Magna-Flux, maybe even X-ray &/or ultra-sound ~ ~ ~ unless you really
think you need any or all of those procedures, there is a rationale to
re-building a used case. Old-time
Has anyone had any experience rebuilding a VW with a used case?
Have you had any issues with it?
Did you line bore it?
Or am I better off with a new case?

Your collection of Clouds and Sunsets is "PRICELESS". This one is really
neat in the way that the bad weather meets the good. I am sure glad you had
a way out of that one. Can't wait to get my Corvair installed, so I can fly
at those altitudes.
How long can you fly that high, without suffering
Did not see the pics on zoomshare. There are issues with Lexan, but in this
case, I don't think they are critical, so I will let y'all find out for
yourself. Or you can check out:
