I finally got to talk to the guy. The engines came from a vo-tech school,
but had never been pulled down. The current owner is an A&P and he's never
had any reason to pull them down, said they would have to be gone thru and
checked out. He's "reasonably confident" that between the two engines one

Just as I was hitting the send button, I noticed the line "no papers
included with these engines". DOUBLE SUSPECT. Count on a complete

Folks have had good luck with O-200s, according to info on the net
So the 235 should work well...
OTOH, parts are MUCH more expensive than corvair parts, and you would
need a custom engine mount (a/o being able to buy prefab mounts

I found this engine locally, and it seems like it would be a good candidate
engine for my prospective KR2S build.
I'm soliciting input from the group about what you think. I posted a message
earlier but it hasn't appeared on the list for some reason? Would this be as

I have located an O-235-C at what appears to be a very good price and it
also has another spare engine for parts. No papers or log books. My question
is would this be a good selection for the KR2S? I'm thinking it would be,
but I'd like to get a few opinions. It is much cheaper than building a

I have bought a rotozip tool. Highly recommended. Not much bigger and will

Get a good quality die grinder with the different collets, they last much
longer and are more heavy duty. You could build several planes with a decent
one. They are available in either electric or air power.

Stephen,I think the short answer is yes and no. The project should have a

buying the better craftsman one.Joe Horton,Coopersburg, PA.
Try a decent quality air powered die grinder. They usually come with both 1/8"
and 1/4" collets, so you can use all your favorite dremel bits, but can also
use the larger 1/4" shank cut off and grinding tools for cutting larger areas.
Mine has lasted through building 3 planes now. I've never fou
I am beginning to think that the length of my project is going to be measured
in the number of Dremel tools that I have gone through. Are Craftsman or any
other models any better?
