They definitely are female. It's an Aurora bearing MW-3 (equivalent to Heim HF-3) and Aircraft Spruce list them for $5.75 each. The Spruce site doesn't have a diagram of the Aurora part but they do for the Heim equivalent. No doubt they'd be happy to confirm over the phone or through their onlin

This has probably been discussed a hundred times, but I can't seem to find the correct part number for Dr. Dean hinges. The write up I have lists mw-3 for the rod end bearings. The figure in the write up shows female rod end bearings. Both aircraft spruce and wyck's describes mw-3 as a male rod

I like the idea of dr dean hinges. they are briliant! I know they are used on the tail but is it ok to use on the alerons and flaps? How many should be used if it is ok. jerry getting parts for a kr1.
