kubuntu-desktop is just a meta package so if you deinstall one of it's
dependencies you don't have installed the kubuntu-desktop meta package
anymore so it will be removed. (and only kubuntu-desktop package not its
other dependencies)

I saw there was a similar bug posted already, but I'm not sure if it's
the same, as mine seems definitely related to stand-by/resuming. It does
not occur when I kill X with Ctrl + Alt + Backspace or any other way.
I am on a Dell Inspiron 6000
As this was a bug in the install I am assigning it to the Ubiquity
package so hopefully it gets dealt with. Please correct me if I was

Richard, I do not believe that that's the issue. As soon as I read your
message I took a look at my xorg.conf file. There's already a Option
"SHMConfig" "on" entry in it and the "toggle touchpad" keyboard button
still does nothing.

Ok Im sorry that I pushed so hard for nscd in this bug, I don't care which dns
cache deamon Kubuntu uses.
I just went on Mr Macieira suggestion.
I you rather use another one like pdnsd or dnsmasq or some other dns

I downloaded the Kubuntu 7.04 LiveCD to test it for the english

Yes, this is in Feisty. It's not causing me a problem now, and I

Micheal is using Ubuntu, he recently discovered the love KDE is offering
and wants to switch to comple Kubuntu Desktop. $SEARCHWEBSITE is telling
him, that by installing kubuntu-desktop he will get a complete Kubuntu

I purged kwalletmanager and rebooted, but the bug does not return. I am
still using kmail 4:3.5.6-0ubuntu6. Maybe the temporary switch to
kwalletmanager somehow repaired kmail's password store.
