I used adept updater from the notification area icon this morning to
update the available packages, and I clicked open one package at random
and clicked

The notifier need not have a 'update now' option if the rest of the system
takes care of running 'apt-get update' once in a while. As that seems to have
been sorted recently, the notifier don't need a 'check now' option

Have checked this this morning after the updates overnight, and after
restarting my session (logout, C-A-Bs X/KDM, login) the Public File
Server applet loads fine, and the Konqueror 'Kubuntu File Manager'
profile no longer
