Just want to clarify a couple of points:
- AFAICT current usplash is 0.1-22 in breezy, and 0.2-3 in dapper; which system
are we talking about here?
- The "sudo dpkg-reconfigure linux-image-$(uname -r)" above refers to a
grub splash image; are we talking about that (goes with the choose a
kernel m
OK; that time /I/ wasn't clear :-) I know that step is supposed to
regenerate the usplash in the initramfs, but the output in question
contains the lines:

No it doesn't - that forces a regeneration of the initramfs, which i
